Kathy Ann Borchardt, 62, of Cuero passed away Friday, Jan. 27, 2017. She was born Jan. 12, 1955 in Yorktown to the late Ewald and Lillian Dolgner Borchardt. Kathy graduated from Cuero High School. She worked at Cuero Community Hospital for 13 years, then went to work for the Yoakum School District for 27 years. She was known and loved for her delicious cookies and sweet rice.
She is survived by her brother, Harold Borchardt and wife, Martha of Cuero; nieces, Deborah Boswell and husband Frank of Victoria and Katherine Felter and husband DeWitt Felter of Natchez, MS; nephew, Keith Borchardt and wife, Megan of Katy; great- nieces and nephews, Tyler, Jordan, Blaine, Audrey, Zack, Abby, Jackson, Samantha, Jack, Lillian and Riley; step-nieces and nephews, Melissa, Megan, Derek, Breanna, Ashley, Miya, Melanie, David, Anthony, Robert , Oliver, Chloe, Meredith, Gaston, Destonie, Christianna, Matthew, Chelsea (Jesus), Gabriela, Angel, Barbara (Colton) and Brooklyn.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Etton Borchardt and nephew, Jimmy Borchardt.
Visitation will be held Friday, Feb. 3 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Services will be held Saturday, Feb. 4 at 10 a.m. at Freund Funeral Home with Pastor Terry Brown officiating. Interment to follow at Westhoff Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Keith Borchardt, Jackson Borchardt, Jesus Ibarra, Dewitt Felter, Tyler Boswell and Blaine Boswell.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
