
Anna Mae Wagner Ryan, 90, of Cuero passed away at home on April 14, 2017. She was born Jan. 23, 1927 in Yorktown, Texas to the late Emil Joseph and Anna Rohan Wagner. Anna married Richard Ryan on June 13, 1953 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Yorktown. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Cuero and the Altar Society. She loved spending time with her family, gardening and needle work. Anna graduated from Yorktown High School and Santa Rosa School of Nursing in San Antonio. She was a R.N. who worked with Polio patients at Warms Springs, plant nurse at Dupont and for Dr O.E. Hall.
She is survived by daughters, Virginia (Wayne) Sparck of Evansville, Indiana and Kathleen Ryan of Houston; sons, Kevin Ryan of Cuero and Gary Ryan of Austin; grandchildren, Erin (Dustin) Sparck of Los Angeles, CA and Sarah, Kate, and Gunnar Ryan of Austin; sisters, Leona Berckenhoff and Doris Boldt of Yorktown; brother, Al (Myrlin) of Yorktown; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by parents; husband; son, Richard III; sisters, Olga and Beth; brothers, Ed, Vic and Gilbert; and two infant sisters.
Visitation will be Monday, April 17 at Freund Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. with a rosary beginning at 6:30. Services will be Tuesday, April 18, at 10 a.m., at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with Father David Berger officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Bill Boldt, Charles Blank, Raymond Jasso, Richard Carbonara, Scott Polkuda and William Potcinske.
