Eddie Heldt, 91, of Weesatche passed away Friday Aug. 19, 2016. He was born Apr. 20, 1925 in Nordheim, to the late Robert C. and Alwina Borchers Heldt. He worked in the oilfield for 35 plus years and retired on his ranch in Weesatche. He served in the US Navy during WWII as a gunner on the U.S.S. Monterey.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife and sweetheart of 49 years, Cora Bierstedt Heldt; brothers, Roland, Arno and Bobby Heldt; sisters, Georgie Williams, June Nell Borth, Marilyn Korth, Frances Gates and infant sister, Elvera Heldt.
He is survived by his son, Ronnie (Sandra) Heldt; daughters, Marsha Heldt Arnold and Wanda (Alvin) Kolodziejcyk. He is also survived by five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and sister, Violet Gohlke.
Pallbearers were grandsons, Clayton Heldt, Kevin Kolodziejcyk, Craig Arnold, Alton Johnston, Rocky Myers and nephew, Roy Wilems.
Honorary pallbearers were his nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or donor’s choice.
Visitation was held Monday Aug. 22, 2016 at Massey Funeral Home, 779 N. Riedel Yorktown. Funeral service was held Tuesday Aug. 23, 2016 at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, 10960 West Church Rd. Weesatche. Interment followed at Memory Gardens in Victoria.
